Hay Field Day to be held July 12

Hay production will be the focus of a July 12 field day at the Mountain Research Station in Waynesville. The event is sponsored by N.C. State University and the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the program runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Topics include mowing, tedding and spraying; calibrating sprayers; preparing for emergencies; pasture and hay fertility; and raking and baling.

Speakers include representatives of NCDA&CS, North Carolina Cooperative Extension, the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service, the Haywood County Farm Bureau and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency.
