Faculty/staff garden workday planned for July 10

How does N.C. State University’s garden grow? With the help of volunteers.

On Wednesday, July 10, faculty and staff are invited to N.C. State’s Agroecology Education Farm from 8 a.m. until noon to tend crops that are being grown by University Dining for use in campus dining halls.  When produce is harvested later this summer, it will be the first time that campus-grown produce is served in campus dining halls.

This farm workday is an opportunity to use community service hours while contributing to a local food movement on campus. Register online as a volunteer.

The farm is a 5-10 minute walk from Yates Mill Park (4620 Lake Wheeler Road), where parking is available. Bring comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and gardening gloves if you have them.
