Dairy Research and Teaching Farm to host Kioti “ride and drive” event

Media Contact: Gary Cartwright, director of the Dairy Enterprise System, Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences, 919-513-2488

WHAT:
More than 200 Kioti dealers from throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico will gather at the North Carolina State University Dairy Research and Teaching Farm for a “ride and drive” event to try out the latest in tractor technology and other agricultural products. Kioti, a division of Daedong-USA Inc., manufactures and sells compact tractors, attachments and implements. Media are invited to attend the event.

WHO:
The dairy farm, housed in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and located at the college’s Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory, has benefited for several years from no-cost equipment loans from Kioti. The company also supports the college’s annual Farm Animal Days event, which gives thousands of North Carolina school children a unique hands-on opportunity to learn about animal agriculture.

“We are very grateful to Kioti for their longstanding support,” said Gary Cartwright, director of the Dairy Enterprise System in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences. “This partnership will continue to play a vital role in the development of the dairy farm as we move forward with our plans for the future.”

Construction and infrastructure projects will be completed this spring, and a number of new educational programs are in the works, according to Cartwright. The 389-acre operation supports a herd of 245 registered Holsteins and 55 registered Jerseys, an ideal mix to support dairy teaching, research and production.
