CEFS hosts workshops on ginger, shiitake mushroom production

Shiitake Mushroom Production
Date: Saturday, Feb. 25, 9 a.m. to 12 noon
Location: Center for Environmental Farming Systems, 201 Stevens Mill Road, Goldsboro

Note: Participants are asked to bring three logs to inoculate. Logs should be oak or sweetgum, 4-8 inches in diameter, 4 feet in length.

Ginger Production Workshop
This workshop is cooperative event between Wayne County Cooperative Extension and CEFS.
Date: Saturday, March 3; 1 to 3 p.m.
Location: CEFS, 201 Stevens Mill Road, Goldsboro
Registration: Free, but participants must pre-register by March 1 (call Diane at 919.731.1525 to reserve a spot).

Note: This workshop is designed for first-time ginger growers. Presenter Susan Anderson of East Branch Ginger will give an overview of edible ginger (Zingiber officinale) production.
