Almanac Gardener returns to UNC-TV

With a focus on sustainable home horticulture, the joint UNC-TV and North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service show “Almanac Gardener” enters its 33rd season starting Saturday April 2.

The weekly show appears on UNC-TV at noon Saturdays, with encore presentations at 3:30 p.m. Mondays and, on the UNC-TV NC channel, at 11 p.m. Thursdays and 2 p.m. Fridays.

Sharing tips and information for home gardeners, the half-hour show features long-time host Mike Gray and Extension horticulture experts affiliated with NC State University and its Extension Service.

Among the Extension agents who will appear this year are Karen Neill and Hanna Pettus, Guilford County; Amy-Lynn Albertson, Davidson County; Jeana Myers, Wake County; Charlotte Glen, Chatham County; Stephen Greer, Moore County; and Same Marshall, Brunswick County.

Other regular guests are area specialized Extension agent Bill Lord of Franklin County and Extension specialist Lucy Bradley, of NC State University’s Horticultural Science Department.
