Allyson Brake Farmer has joined the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Advancement team as the new associate director of leadership annual giving for the 4-H and FFA programs. Farmer is very familiar with both programs as she is a former 4-H State Council president and a second-generation 4-H Honor Club member. She also earned her State FFA degree. In 2013, Farmer was crowned Watermelon Queen and is excited to share her passion for agriculture with current and future supporters.

Prior to coming to CALS, Farmer served as the communications manager with Wake County Cooperative Extension and began her professional career with Carolina Farm Credit in the marketing department. Farmer’s most recent role was in development for Note in the Pocket, a Triangle area non-profit that supports clothing children and families with dignity and love through combatting clothing insecurity in the Triangle.

“Growing up in 4-H and FFA, I have seen firsthand the positive impact of both of these programs. I look forward to working with the alumni, donors and organizations that partner with us in support of youth development,” says Farmer.

Farmer lives in Clayton, North Carolina with her family. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Campbell University. She can be reached at allyson_farmer@ncsu.edu or 919-513-4037.
