What Sets Us Apart

Demand is high for qualified professionals to teach, administer and create educational programs and support systems for children, youth and families in North Carolina and beyond. Our online graduate programs prepare and strengthen current and future professionals to work with youth and families in community-based settings. Our Youth, Family, and Community Sciences faculty members are experts in their field and have more than a decade of experience teaching online. We strive to create positive and applied learning environments so that our students leave fully prepared to excel in their professional careers.

We’re not online because we have to be, we’re online because we want to be.

-YFCS Faculty and Staff

  • We are student-focused by encouraging development by building on strengths through active, applied learning.
  • An all-online program allows our students the flexibility they need to be successful.
  • For both traditional and non-traditional students, our synchronous courses are taught during the evenings with our instructional designer on hand to assist all students.
  • Students focus on one foundational area or gain a broad perspective of working with individuals across the lifespan.

Whether you decide to pursue our non-thesis M.R. degree, or our thesis M.S. degree, we will help empower you to become a leader and advance your career.
