Building off the success of <a href=\"https:\/\/datascienceacademy.ncsu.edu\/2022\/04\/19\/small-groups-big-success-nc-state-hosts-first-datafest\/\">last year&#8217;s first DataFest event at NC&#160;State<\/a>, the Data Science Academy is kicking off registration for its 2023 competition.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate students compete in teams of 3 to 5. You can form a team before the event or request to be placed on a team. We encourage you to create teams with classmates from different disciplines because you will benefit from having team members of diverse backgrounds and skills.<\/p>\n<p>Final projects are limited to<strong> three slides<\/strong>, so make your content count.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Registration:<\/strong> Feb. 13 &#8211; March 24<\/li>\n<li><strong>DataFest:<\/strong> March 31 &#8211; April 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information on how to register, contact<a href=\"mailto:hhouser@ncsu.edu\"> Haley Houser<\/a>, digital communications coordinator for Data Science Academy.<\/p>\n<h4>About DataFest<\/h4>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amstat.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Statistical Association (ASA)<\/a> DataFest\u2122 is a celebration of data in which undergraduate student teams work for a three-day weekend to find and share meaning in a large, rich, and complex dataset.
