The new Assistant Director will develop and implement plans that enhance the visibility of life sciences and providing leadership for increasing grants and contracts that support the college\u2019s life sciences\u2019 research.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Reiskind, an associate professor in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, will present on his vision for the position on Tuesday, May 12. Reiskind\u2019s research focuses on the ecology of disease vectors, such as mosquitos and ticks, at the local and global level. He has served on the CALS Research Committee for the past three years, and has been the CRC chair for two years.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Grunden, a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology, will present on her vision for the position on Thursday, May 14. Grunden is leading an international, interdisciplinary study on the wheat microbiome supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
