Federal accessibility requirements now explicitly apply to our digital spaces. That means our websites, instructional materials, documents, and videos must meet accessibility standards for the Americans with Disabilities Act in the same way our physical buildings must.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The federal compliance deadline is April 24, 2026<\/strong>, and while perfection is not the expectation, demonstrable, tangible progress is. We must be able to document good-faith, proactive compliance efforts across the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 1: Reporter Training <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n All faculty and staff who create digital content (websites, Moodle classrooms, extension publications, etc), or direct others to do so, must complete:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Department heads and unit leaders are responsible for ensuring completion within their areas by April 24, 2026, and are expected to complete each training themselves. Participation is tracked as an important college-level metric we are responsible for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 2 (if needed): Support Sessions <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Additionally, we\u2019re offering the following support sessions. Please encourage your team members to register<\/a> if they plan to attend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Reporter training is the immediate priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once baseline training completion data is in hand, we will issue more detailed guidance on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our approach will remain practical and risk-based, focused first on high-visibility and high-impact content.
