This seminar series is open to everyone in the CALS and university community, providing a unique opportunity to learn more about this critical field. This exciting course, featured in a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foodsafetynews.com\/2024\/08\/fda-nc-state-nasda-launch-public-health-food-inspections-course\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Food Safety News article<\/a>, is the first of its kind and highlights a collaborative effort between the FDA, NC State University, and NASDA (National Association of State Departments of Agriculture) to strengthen public health education.<\/p>\n<p>The series will feature experts from the FDA, including FDA Commissioner Robert Califf and Michael Rogers, FDA associate commissioner for inspections and investigations, as well as Steve Troxler, North Carolina commissioner of agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>These seminars aim to provide insights into careers in public health food inspection and emphasize their importance in safeguarding public health. Nicole joined the FDA as a consumer safety officer and is also a commissioned corps officer with the United States Public Health Service working to protect, promote and advance the health and safety of the general public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speakers: Robert Califf, Commissioner of FDA, and Michael Rogers, FDA Associate Commissioner for Inspections and Investigations<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Date:<\/strong> Thursday, Nov. 14<br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 11:45 a.m. \u2013 1 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Califf currently serves as the 25th Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.
