CALS is pleased to announce a new learning opportunity for faculty interested in improving their pitch presentation skills when interacting with industry partners. This opportunity will be focused on the design and development of industry-ready pitch presentations (not scientific presentations) related to the faculty member\u2019s specific research program. Five faculty members will be selected to participate in this opportunity which consists of two steps: a closed session and an open session.<\/div>\n

Selected faculty members will attend a closed session on Wednesday, March 27 from 9-11:30 a.m. At that session, faculty will present their industry pitch for critique by Jeffrey Pollack<\/a>,\u00a0Lynn T. Clark II Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Poole College of Management. For a sample of Dr. Pollack’s process see:\u00a0Pitch 101<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Following the closed session, each selected faculty member will present their final pitch presentation to a panel of former industry experts at an open faculty session on Wednesday, April 10 from 2-4 p.m. During the open session, the panelists will provide a critique for each faculty presenter aimed at helping improve their success rate for receiving funding from industry partners.<\/div>\n

CALS Dean Garey Fox will award $500 to each of the selected presenter\u2019s programs. They will also be included on a list for future Emerging Research Showcases<\/a>\u00a0and industry site visits, where CALS identifies and brings to campus potential industry partners who are looking to invest in CALS faculty research projects. All CALS faculty are invited to attend the open faculty session and cheer on the five presenters!<\/span><\/p>\n
