The program is one of only two <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asbmb.org\/education\/accreditation\"><span style=\"\">ASBMB-accredited programs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"\"> in North Carolina and one of about 60 in the nation. Department Head Melanie Simpson credited the accomplishment to the hard work of faculty, led by Co-director of Undergraduate Programs Trino Ascencio-Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez with assistance from Assistant Professor Ning Sui.
