We are actively seeking CALS faculty to run for the Faculty Senate and to serve on the Hearing Faculty Grievance and Non-Reappointment committees. These are important roles that ensure fairness for our community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><b>The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 10.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Faculty governance at NC&#160;State University relies on faculty from across every college to serve. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/facultysenate.ncsu.edu\/\"><span style=\"\">Faculty Senate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"\"> is a body of representatives elected from each college and the general constituency of the university. Seats are assigned proportionately to the size of each college. Senators meet with the chancellor, provost, and other senior university administrators regularly and provide advice on policy, hiring, and matters of concern to faculty. Only faculty members eligible to vote will receive election invitations. To be eligible to vote, faculty members must meet one of the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\">Full-time tenured and tenure track faculty with at least an FTE of 0.75-benefit eligibility<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\">Full-time professional track faculty, <\/span><b>except <\/b><span style=\"\">field faculty<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\">Faculty in the Phased Retirement Program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\">Emeritus faculty<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\">Not in an administrative position higher than a department head<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"\">Not sure about the Senate?
