When Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina in September 2024, CALS responded. The storm caused widespread damage, and many communities and businesses in Western NC are still struggling. The recovery is expected to take years. North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NC VOAD)<\/strong>: This is a coalition of organizations working together on disaster relief. NC Disaster Relief Fund:<\/strong> This is the official state fund that goes directly to nonprofits working on the ground to meet the immediate and long-term needs of storm victims. Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
