Changes to CALS Business Services Structure

Our Business Services organizational structure is changing to effectively respond to increasing business transaction volume and to provide improved services to our twelve academic departments and numerous centers, research stations and field labs, and county operations. 

Transforming our business services through continuous process improvement are important components to successfully support the strategic goals of our university and college.  

To summarize, under this realignment Business Services Program Associates will:

  • Be able to process critical transactions to resolve customer queries and to more effectively and efficiently manage overall transaction volume.
  • Answer and troubleshoot business area-specific queries directed to the CBO helpline Note: Updates to the current CBO Helpline system directory will refer customers to business service areas instead of an assigned business liaison.  This change will occur in mid-October. 
  • Work with Business Service’s Accounting Supervisors to review business transactions for opportunities to improve the quality of our services.
  • Phase-out academic department in-service activities, but remain available to support external training needs on business policies and procedures.
