The Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards

The Chancellor’s Creating Community Awards is coordinated annually by the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity. The awards recognize outstanding faculty, staff, colleges, students and student organizations that have made exceptional efforts and contributions in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Note: Individuals, colleges/divisions and student organizations may self-nominate. OIED staff and other university employees whose key job responsibilities connect with equity, diversity and inclusion are not eligible for these awards. In addition, student organizations focused on equity, diversity and inclusion may only be nominated for the award if their activities exceed the scope of their organization’s mission and objectives.

Nominations are due by Friday, March 29, 2019, and will be received in the following categories:

Outstanding Faculty Award

  • $500 cash award to recipient
  • $500 in discretionary funds to recipient’s department

 Outstanding Staff Award (SPA and professional EPA)

  • $500 cash award to recipient
    $500 in discretionary funds to recipient’s department

Outstanding Student Awards

  • $250 cash award to graduate recipient
  • $250 cash award to undergraduate recipient

Outstanding College/Division Award

  • $1000 in discretionary funds to department

Outstanding Student Organization Award

  • $500 cash award to organization
