The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has provided federal agencies with additional flexibilities for grant recipients affected by the loss of operational capacity and increased costs due to the COVID-19 crisis:

OMB has released M-20-17,

“Administrative Relief for Recipients and Applicants of Federal Financial Assistance Directly Impacted by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) due to Loss of Operations” which provides similar administrative relief as listed in M-20-11 to an expanded scope of recipients affected by the loss of operational capacity and increased costs due to the COVID-19 crisis.”

The exercising of these authorities is at the discretion of each federal agency. The Council on Governmental Relations (COGR) has created a website that lists federal agency COVID-19 guidance, as it becomes available. Currently, only NIH has provided guidance.

If you have any questions, please reach out to CALS Contracts & Grants Office; please do not directly contact the Federal Agencies, including Program Officers/Directors.
