Louws to Serve as Head of Horticulture

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean Richard Linton has announced that Dr. Frank Louws has agreed to serve as head of the Department of Horticultural Sciences, pending receipt of appropriate required approvals.

“Once all final approvals have been received, we will share a more formal announcement with our extended CALS Community,” said Linton. “In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Frank and wishing him well as he steps into this important leadership role.”

Linton also extended special thanks to all members of the search committee led by Dr. Rick Davis.

“The Department of Horticultural Science is internationally well-recognized with distinguished impacts – locally, nationally and globally,” Louws said. “I look forward to joining the department and sharing in its vision alongside the spectrum of faculty, staff and students for continued growth in excellence.”
