CALS Community Conversation – Moving from Safe to Brave Spaces

Three students on campus.

In an effort to continue our shared learning and growth, we invite you to join us on the last Tuesday of the month for CALS Community Conversations focusing on race.

Dr. Rupert W. Nacoste, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor of Psychology, is leading the September CALS Community Conversations: Moving from Safe to Brave Spaces.

Combining his training as a racial dialogue facilitator and social psychological scholar-expertise on social change, Dr. Nacoste has worked to help communities to manage conversations and interactions that focus on race and race relations. During this session, Dr. Nacoste will discuss managing the neo-diversity anxieties of today in order to have respectful interactions with people “…not like us.”

The aim of this series has been to make it clear that one of CALS’ foremost institutional goals is to create a learning environment that embraces and celebrates racial as well as all other dimensions of diversity.

Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
