Art Bradley Jr. has officially been named Northeast District Director for North Carolina Cooperative Extension, effective January 15, 2020. Bradley has been serving as interim district director since the retirement of Stephen Greer last fall.

Bradley is a native of Edgecombe County, was raised on a farming operation, and was active in Extension’s 4-H program. He graduated from NC State University with a bachelor’s degree in agronomy in 1991, and began his career with Extension as an agriculture agent in Edgecombe County. He has worked throughout his career with the farmers of Edgecombe County providing research-based information for field crops, including tobacco, cotton, peanuts and grains.

Bradley received his master’s degree in crop science in 1998 and participated in the CALS Agricultural Leadership Development Program in 2007. He was promoted to director for Extension’s Edgecombe County center in 2009, where he continued to provide expertise in field crops, enhance Extension programming in the county, and cultivate connections with local government.

Bradley has served as Interim County Extension Director in Nash County, in addition to serving on the Extension Title Promotion Committee, County Government Partnership Committee and the NC State Committee on Extension, Engagement and Economic Development.
