This was the first year we had an honorary mention. We couldn’t let another day go by without thanking John Garner for all that he does with the Federal Excess Personal Property Program. Job well done John!

The room was full with 50 attendees from Dean Linton, Dr. Harry Daniels to nominators, supervisors, family, staff, co-workers, etc.

The University will be honoring all the Awards for Excellence winners on Monday, June 11 at 2:00 in the Hunt Library with a reception to immediately follow in the Duke Energy Ballroom at Hunt Library. As some of you may have been notified, this Awards Ceremony has been moved due to logistical challenges. Please put this new DATE and LOCATION in your calendar and remove the June 18th information.

Everyone in CALS is invited to attend the University’s celebration of the college winners and see who will be named the university’s winners. The 12 possible recipients of the NC State University Awards for Excellence receive an additional eight hours of paid time off, an award of $1,000 as well as an engraved plaque. These recipients are also submitted for consideration for the Governor’s Awards for Excellence, which is the highest honor awarded to a state employee. Last year we had two that moved up to the university level. How many will we have this year? Come watch and celebrate either way. No RSVP needed.

Let’s show the chancellor and the other colleges that we are behind our four winners all the way. No RSVP needed. You are welcome to come and hear all the stories behind all the winners. Listening to their stories may spark something. Maybe you work with next year’s winner. You can nominate them. Or better yet, it could be you. Just let someone know.
