Mexico’s Food System in Transition: A Sociological Outsider’s Perspective and Experience in Mexico
Andrew Smolski

Andrew Smolski a PhD student from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. We will hear from his time in Mexico when he was investigating the public markets in Mexico City and the social and political relationships in food distribution. Andrew has  research ambitions for understanding the role of social movements in the development of sustainable agriculture and Cuban organic agriculture. We can see it as an asset to meet him and a chance to bridge practical & fundamental agricultural research with sociology & anthropology.

The CALS SAIGE International Seminar Series provides an opportunity for CALS international researchers to share their experiences and lessons learned.  All of those interested in international research and making international research connections are invited to attend.

Coffee and snacks will be provided.
