This two-level, staff leadership development program focuses on the development of personal leadership and skills to increase employee satisfaction and performance. Both levels of the program are funded by the CALS Dean’s office and coordinated through the CALS HR office. Level 2 focuses on deeper on issues of interest to previous Level 1 participants, including work/life balance, time management, team-building, and conflict management. Response has been high, with over 150 staff members participating in three CALS Proud Staff sessions. The CALS Proud Staff session I runs in the fall and session II runs in the spring.

The faculty leadership development program focuses on the first year of a faculty member’s experience in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with various experiences including, but not limited to: RPT 101, Dean’s New Faculty Bus Tour, and Mini-Leadership Sessions. Forty-five new faculty members are currently participating in our first CALS Proud Faculty session. The next leadership session will begin March 2017 and close in May.
