Applicants should have majored in horticulture, crop science, plant science, or agricultural education with a concentration in plant science, or another closely related degree. The Graduate School has its own criteria for admission in addition to the specific admissions requirements for the Certificate Program. There you will find information regarding frequently asked questions along with Self Service features, Live Chat, and technical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Check Graduate School requirements and deadlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications and all supporting documents must be received on or before the\u00a0deadlines posted in the left sidebar. For more information on enrollment dates, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentservices.ncsu.edu\/calendars\/enrollment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">enrollment calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International applicants typically have earlier deadlines to allow time to process necessary visa documentation. Applicants applying for financial aid also usually have earlier deadlines. To view the most up-to-date Graduate School deadlines, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/grad.ncsu.edu\/programs\/details\/?program=HS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Horticultural Science program profile<\/a> on the Graduate School website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Prepare your application materials<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications must include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Application fee ($25)<\/li><li>One unofficial transcript from each previously attended college or university<\/li><li>Three recommendations (optional)<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.ncsu.edu\/graduate\/graduate-handbook\/admissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proof of English Proficiency<\/a> (non-US citizen applicants only)<\/li><li>Personal Statement<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the above-listed requirements can and should be uploaded to the online application (see Step 6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> Inquire about financial aid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial aid eligibility is determined by the Financial Aid Office. We encourage you to <a href=\"https:\/\/emas.ncsu.edu\/about\/employers\/scholarships-and-financial-aid-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contact your financial aid advisor<\/a> in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Criteria for funding is based on academic merit, demonstrated financial need, and enrollment in multiple DE courses per semester. You may <a href=\"https:\/\/applygrad.ncsu.edu\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check the status<\/a> of your application at any time.
