Production of extensive grain crops will decrease and intensive horticultural crops will increase. This reality is becoming recognized as a department and is leading us into the planning and research required to accommodate these changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 1989, graduate students from all continents have earned degrees from the Department of Horticultural Science. Most have returned to their home countries to provide the needed scientific expertise for agricultural advancements.
