HS Seminar: Genomic and Genetic Analyses Linking Genes to Reproductive Traits in the Wild Strawberry

September 23, 2019 | 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Zhongchi Liu, PhD, Professor
Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics
University of Maryland
Monday, 23rd September 2019
3:00 pm
121 Kilgore Hall

Flower and fruit are major contributors to food and feed. Our lab is interested in understanding the basic mechanisms controlling flower and fruit development as well as translating that knowledge into solutions for agriculture. Extensive genomic resources are developed for the wild strawberry and recently for the red raspberry. Further, genome- wide analyses, network building, and functional studies in the wild strawberry are beginning to link genes to specific traits of economic importance.
