Gerald H. Elkan Distinguished Lecture in Science and Society

We invite you to the inaugural Gerald H. Elkan Distinguished Lecture in Science and Society, to be held in the Hunt Library Auditorium on Tuesday, March 21 from 5:30-6:30 pm. A reception will follow in Duke Energy Hall.

Featured speaker Dr. Marc Edwards, whose talk is entitled, “Truth Seeking by the Lights of Perverted Science: Exposing the Flint Water Disaster.” A MacArthur Fellow and the Charles Lunsford Professor of Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech, Edwards’ laboratory group’s research laid the groundwork for investigative science uncovering the 2001-2004 D.C. Lead Crisis and the 2014-2016 Flint Water Disaster.
