Gardening With Native Plants

Bryce Lane, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor Emeritus and Lecturer Emeritus in the Department of Horticultural Science at NC State, will lead a multi-week course about using native and nonnative plants in our home gardens. In this class, Lane will discuss:
What it means to be native, naturalized, exotic, invasive and nonnative and what you should consider when you select plants for your garden. Native trees, shrubs, vines, ground covers and herbaceous perennials. Nativars and what you need to consider when using them as well.Plants from far away places that are related to many of our American native plants and how they can be used in your gardens.Registration for the class is required. Please let us know whether you prefer to attend in person or virtually. The sessions will be recorded and made available to view later.
