2025 Annual Clyde W. Eby Memorial Lecture

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Prestage Department of Poultry Science is pleased to invite NC State colleagues and friends to the 2025 Clyde W. Eby Memorial Lecture on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Plant Science Building Conference Room. More details are below.

Guest Speaker:

Dr. Martin Zuidhof – University of Alberta, Canada. Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science at the University of Alberta. He has coauthored more than 100 papers in top Animal and Poultry Science journals and has received numerous teaching and research awards.

Lecture Title:

“Reflections on Three Decades as a Poultry Scientist”

Dr. Zuidhof invented a precision feeding system for poultry. The system has great commercial potential and is currently being used to collect big data on individual birds in a free-run research environment. His passion is innovation, and he sees tremendous potential in the application of precision livestock farming and smart farming techniques.

About the Clyde W. Eby Memorial Lecture

The Clyde W. Eby Memorial Enrichment Endowment, established by Mrs. Elizabeth Madden Eby through the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, supports enrichment activities within the Prestage Department of Poultry Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at NC State.

This annual lecture honors the legacy of Clyde W. Eby and his many contributions to the growth of North Carolina’s poultry industry. Over the years, the Eby Lecture has become a cornerstone event in our academic calendar, offering a platform for thought leaders to share insights that inspire and shape the future of poultry science.
