Research Interests

I am a molecular geneticist taking on grand challenges through interdisicplinary teamwork. In the lab I use gene editing systems to answer functional genomics questions concerning insecticide resistance and selfish genetic elements. As an affiliate of the Genetic Engineering and Society Center, I use interviews, stakeholder focus groups, and surveys to explore conceptions of responsible innovation in the context of biotechnology.
