Position Description:

Aquatic food products and food security. Food production in the future must be sufficient, safe, and nutritious to meet people’s current needs and preferences, but it also has to be environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable to provide for the long-term. Wild-caught fisheries and aquaculture, as well as imported products, help to meet consumer demand for aquatic food products, but the pros and cons of these different production systems and their components are hotly debated. Focus is Aquatic food supply, safety, and security with significant benefits for North Carolina suppliers, consumers, and our citizens.
