Brand Assets and Downloads
These templates are designed to help CALS faculty and staff follow the university's brand requirements. Please use them for all official business. If you are unfamiliar with the brand requirements, visit the NC State brand site.
Printed Letterhead and Envelopes
Order printed stationery through the university’s Marketplace on MyPack Portal.
- Log into MyPack Portal
- Click on the For Faculty and Staff icon under the main header
- Click the MarketPlace icon under the Financial Systems Summary tab
- Click Create Requisition
- Under Copy/Print Services, select Staples Office Supply. You are now at the Staples Advantage site.
- Click Print Services
- Under Your Company’s Print Products, click on Search Entire Selection
- Choose the product, style, and quantity
- Click on Customize
- Fill out the Fields and Preview
You do not have to put information in every field. The equal-opportunity statement at the bottom is optional.
Electronic Letterhead
Visit the NC State brand site to download and customize letterhead for email use. Do not use this in place of printed stationery.
Business Cards
Order business cards online via Wolf Xpress.
PowerPoint Templates
Download the CALS PowerPoint template. Do not alter the header or white background.
Name Badge Insert Template
Use with Avery Dennison 5384 name badge inserts, available through Staples Advantage on the NC State Marketplace.
NC State Photography
NC State Photos is the official NC State photo site. It contains galleries of brand-approved, university- and college-related images. You must register for an account to download high-resolution images.
Brand Fonts
Please complete the font request form. If approved, CALS IT will contact you to install the fonts on your workstation.
Because of limited licensing, fonts will be distributed only to those with ongoing responsibilities for marketing and communications.
CALS Lower Third Generator

This tool will help you generate an image (PNG) file that you can download and use in Adobe Premiere Pro as your lower-third graphic. It works for both college- and Extension-branded videos.
Model Release Form
If you take photos of people for promotional use, they must sign a model release form. Click on the icon for a PDF version of the official CALS Model Release Form.

College Logos
The “brick” — with or without the college name — is the only appropriate logo for official communications.
NC State University has specific brand requirements. Visit the NC State Brand site to learn about them.
Likewise, the college has logo requirements: The full logo — red brick and college name, with the words University and College of — is the preferred option.
If you are working with a designer or a promotional item vendor, please ask them what logo is appropriate.

In certain situations, using these options may be acceptable. Very small or familiar items may not need the full logo. Always ask yourself if your choice best represents the college and the university.

Unacceptable Logos

Previous college logo

Block S logo. This logo is reserved for Athletics and student groups.

The 125th-anniversary logo is no longer in use.

Do not add department names or other information to the logo. The college logo should not be altered or embellished in any way.

Individual department logos are not allowed. CALS provides wordmarks for all 12 departments. Contact CALS_comms@ncsu.edu if you need your department’s wordmark files.
Department Names
Department names are not part of the logo system. Department names can go anywhere — except next to the college logo. Here are some examples of how to identify your department on different materials.
