This program is based at El Verde Field Station, Puerto Rico.  Students get the chance to research topics in ecology (streams, plant communities, soils) and evolution (plant-pollinator interactions) within El Yunque National Forest. All students receive stipends, flight reimbursements (to a maximum), housing, and food allowances during the 10-week programs.

“Our program provides a unique opportunity to learn how to do research in tropical ecosystems,” says Ramírez. “We consider students independent researchers, and guide them to produce the best research possible.”

The application deadline is February 15th, 2021! Learn more about the application process here and more about the Ramírez lab here
