Data collection in the field can involve blood and sweat, but by using data science–you can avoid the analysis tears!  Dr. Vianey Leos Barajas will walk us through how to find the best stories hidden in the values.  Vianey is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources & Department of Statistics at NC State and conducts research in the areas of statistical ecology, time series analysis, and movement ecology.  She has analyzed data for projects ranging from dart-players to hunting strategies of white sharks.
