That\u2019s why we designed an orientation program just for parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sign up for the AGI parent orientation session&nbsp;on the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/newstudents.ncsu.edu\/\">New Students Program<\/a>&nbsp;website and choose the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/newstudents.dasa.ncsu.edu\/families\/firstyear\/\">First-Year Summer Orientation<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/newstudents.dasa.ncsu.edu\/families\/transfer\/\">Transfer Summer Orientation<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more orientation information, contact New Student Programs at&nbsp;<a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">orientation@ncsu.edu&nbsp;<\/a>or 919-515-1234.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fall-semester-class-enrollment\"><strong>Fall Semester Class Enrollment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Incoming AGI students (not transfer students) will receive an email about enrolling in fall semester classes. Those students can participate in a self-registration program. This program gives you early access to available courses, which ensures more choices,&nbsp;<strong>so don\u2019t wait!&nbsp;<\/strong>The email will be sent the second week of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;The Agricultural Institute is a four-semester program, and classroom space is limited. Follow the course schedule from the course planning tool. If you modify your schedule, you might fall behind on progress toward your degree, and if you receive federal financial aid, this might affect your assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration Steps<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Log into the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/harvest.cals.ncsu.edu\/applications\/agi_classPlanning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AGI Course Planning Tool<\/a>&nbsp;with your Unity ID and password.&nbsp;<em>(This will be the same user ID and password you use to log into MyPack Portal. All new students are required to change their password before logging into MyPack Portal for the first time.)<\/em><\/li><li>Follow the instructions and answer each question.<\/li><li>At the end of the questions, generate your schedule. You will need to print or save this page for steps 5 \u2013 6.<\/li><li>Log into&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/mypack.ncsu.edu\/\">MyPack Portal<\/a>&nbsp;with your Unity ID and password.&nbsp;If you have trouble, contact the Information Technology Division at 919.515.HELP.<\/li><li>Grab the schedule with your enrolled classes that you printed. (Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 hours to be considered full-time.)<\/li><li>Review the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cals.ncsu.edu\/agricultural-institute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/07\/How-to-Enroll-in-Classes-at-NC-State-New-Students.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How to Enroll in Classes at NC&#160;State-New Students<\/a>&nbsp;document for information on enrolling in classes.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you already have courses in your schedule,&nbsp;<strong>do not drop<\/strong>&nbsp;them unless advised by the Agricultural Institute Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are&nbsp;<strong>not required<\/strong>&nbsp;to take the university math or chemistry placement test.&nbsp;&nbsp;You must take a math proficiency test during orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To take advantage of the benefits of early registration, you must register before orientation begins on July 29.&nbsp;<\/strong>If you have trouble, we can arrange a one-on-one session during orientation to complete your schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"math-proficiency-testing\">Math Proficiency Testing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During orientation, you will be required to take a math proficiency test. Transfer students should contact the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cals.ncsu.edu\/agricultural-institute\/about\/contact\">Agricultural Institute Office<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;schedule a testing appointment, if applicable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The test will&nbsp;determine your level of proficiency in math and whether you must take a first-level math course (MAA 102).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;If your AGI course schedule indicates that you should enroll in MAA 102, please register for the course. If you receive credit for MAA 102 at orientation, we will adjust your course schedule.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Testing Tips<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Review our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1bU5PARNWcfJPQUCMd8t7275Bv43N4NOE\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Math Placement Review<\/a>\u00a0in preparation for the proficiency test.<\/strong>\u00a0It is similar to what you will see on the test.<\/li><li><strong>You must bring a calculator and a pen\/pencil.<\/strong>\u00a0We will not have calculators available.<\/li><li>Any simple calculator will do.\u00a0 You will\u00a0<strong>not be allowed\u00a0<\/strong>to use your cell phone as a calculator.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are registered (or will register) through the NC&#160;State Disability Services Office and require additional accommodations for the test, contact the Agricultural Institute Office at&nbsp;<a href=\"javascript:void(0);\">ag_institute@ncsu.edu<\/a>&nbsp;or 919.515.3248.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You got in.
