Parents

We Help You Help Them Succeed
We strive to help parents support their student’s college experience. We firmly believe that parent involvement plays a key role in student success. Read on to find out about resources available to parents through the Ag Institute.
Parent’s Network
Get involved with your student’s education through the Parent Network, our parent support program.
As members of the network, parents are aware of important activities and events such as academic advising schedules, upcoming bills, and grade release dates. We give guidance to parents on how they can support their children while they’re at AGI.
Parents with FERPA rights have access to academic records and can work with the Agricultural Institute to contact instructors about their student’s performance and in what areas they can help them improve.
For more information on the Parent’s Network, email ag_institute@ncsu.edu.
Tuition, Fees and Financial Aid
Agricultural Institute students pay the same tuition and fees as undergraduate students at NC State. Find semester tuition and fees on the Cashier’s Office website.
Incoming freshman and continuing students are eligible to apply for scholarships through the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). CALS Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Submit the online CALS Scholarship application as soon as possible for consideration.
If you are interested in receiving financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applications are due as soon as possible after January 1.
FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) gives parents and guardians access to their student’s academic records and personal information, including grades, campus address, financial information, etc.
If parents want access to their student’s information, the student must:
- Log in to MyPackPortal and under “For Students.”
- Select “Privacy Settings.” They can then select the information to be made available to parents and guardians.
For more information on FERPA visit the NC State Policies, Regulations, and Rules (PRR) website.
