How Much Do Undocumented Immigrants Contribute to the US Economy?

Source: CNN

Excerpt from CNN:

Economist Alejandro Gutierrez-Li, a professor at North Carolina State University (NCSU) who is an expert on migration and agricultural jobs, tells CNN that, although there are no official figures for all sectors, “it is well known that undocumented workers tend to concentrate in certain industries. These include agriculture, construction, restaurants and hotels,” and that, in the event of mass deportations, “it is to be expected that the agricultural sector will be severely affected.” According to Gutierrez-Li, the production of fruits and vegetables, milk, meat and others such as Christmas trees or flowers “require a large number of workers to survive.”
