Goodwin Awarded Holladay Medal for Excellence

Barry Goodwin, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor and Graduate Alumni Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Economics, has been chosen to receive the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal of Excellence, the highest faculty honor bestowed by the trustees and NC State University.  The Holladay Medal for Excellence recognizes members of the faculty whose careers have demonstrated outstanding achievement and sustained impact in research, teaching or extension and engagement.

Goodwin earned his PhD in Economics from NC State University in 1988. Since then, he has published extensively on topics such as applied economics, policy, trade, and econometrics. Goodwin has played in active role with students through teaching and advising. He has consistently contributed to the department, university and the entire field of economics.

Goodwin will be recognized and presented with an engraved medal and framed certificate at the Celebration of Faculty Excellence in the Spring semester.  He will also be recognized at Commencement and his names will be published in the NC State Bulletin.  In addition, a permanent plaque which is displayed in the Faculty Senate Room, will be inscribed with his name.
