I am coordinating an event that will allow participants to act as a member of Congress to determine the budget by deciding on expenditures and taxes.

Participants work in groups to decide what to fund and how it will be paid for. The event would benefit from folks at all levels participating, the more diversity the better, so please consider attending and encourage your students and advisees to participate.

I have not announced this to students yet but am letting you know in the event that you’d be willing to participate so you can put it on your calendar.

I’ve attached the documents we will be using during the workshop so you can have an idea of what we are working with as we complete this activity.

And yes, it is ambitious to think we can accomplish all of this within 2 hours but once the process gets going, most groups are able to complete it in the allotted time.
