A passion for agriculture, a strong sense of purpose, and a commitment to lifelong learning have shaped Rachelle Andreatta\u2019s path in agricultural education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in agricultural education from Texas Tech University in May 2021 and her Master of Science in agricultural and extension education at NC State University in May 2023. Along the way, she has built a career focused on inspiring and empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing up surrounded by the wide-open spaces and cattle ranches of southern Colorado, she was immersed in agriculture from a young age. However, it was her experiences being involved in FFA and 4-H that allowed her to discover a passion for turning her love of agriculture into a lifelong career. \u201cI\u2019ve been fortunate to learn from passionate individuals who helped me grow as both an agriculturalist and an educator,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At NC State, Andreatta found more than just academic opportunities\u2014she found a strong sense of community. \u201cMy time at NC State offered networking opportunities, new knowledge, and\u2014most importantly\u2014meaningful relationships with people who share my passion for agriculture,\u201d she said. \u201cThe entire agricultural and extension education program felt like a family. Faculty were always involved and supportive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an out-of-state student, Andreatta arrived in North Carolina without nearby family or friends. She credits faculty members Joy Morgan and Travis Park for helping her feel at home on campus and supporting her beyond graduation. \u201cDr. Morgan and Dr. Park made me feel like I\u2019d been part of this community all along,\u201d she said. \u201cEven after graduation, they continue to support me in my career and personal life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Andreatta serves as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Western Harnett High School. She teaches animal science and agricultural mechanics, organizes program events, manages paperwork for field trips and purchases, supports National Chapter award submissions, and coaches students in leadership and career development events, including the Washington Leadership Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy work doesn\u2019t feel like work,\u201d she said. \u201cEvery day, I have the chance to make a difference in students\u2019 lives\u2014whether by teaching agricultural concepts or simply being someone they can talk to. I get to help ignite a passion for agriculture that some students didn\u2019t even know they had.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, she hopes to return to Colorado and serve as a 4-H extension agent, focusing on youth development and agricultural outreach. Within the next five years, her goal is to bring her knowledge, passion, and servant leadership back to the community where her roots\u2014and her love for agriculture\u2014first began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andreatta\u2019s passion for learning and storytelling has always guided her path. Early on, she knew she wanted to share her experiences, connect with students, and provide real-world applications that make learning meaningful. Through education, she has found a way to combine her love of agriculture with her desire to make a lasting impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
