Dr. Hardison-Moody continues to work in the emerging field of religion and health, with a focus on gender, food and food insecurity, and poverty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She is co-editor of\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Parenting Practices as a Source for Theology: Mothering Matters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0(Palgrave Macmillan), and author of\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When Religion Matters: Practicing Healing in the Aftermath of the Liberian Civil War<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0(Wipf &amp; Stock), which examines the role that religion played in women\u2019s healing practices post-conflict. Along with Dr. Sarah Bowen, she is currently at work on a book about food insecurity that is\u00a0 under contract with the University of California press.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She was co-PI for FIRST: Food Insecurity Responses, Solutions, and Transformation during COVID-19, an NSF-funded RAPID grant that aimed to understand how families\u2019 food practices have shifted as a result of COVID-19 and identify the processes that buffered some families from food insecurity but not others. She was co-PI of Health Matters, a CDC-funded initiative that promoted healthy eating and places to be active in four North Carolina counties and also co-PI for Voices into Action: The Families, Food, and Health Project, a USDA- and Russell Sage Foundation-funded longitudinal study of the family food environment (2012 \u2013 2020).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. Hardison-Moody is also Director of Faithful Families Thriving Communities, a faith-based health promotion intervention.
