Lisa Benavente is a Regional Nutrition Extension Associate for the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and SNAP-Ed Programs. She is a member of the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences. She has over 15 years experience serving limited resource families in both educator and leadership roles. Lisa currently provides leadership to EFNEP in Wake, Durham and Orange Counties. She trains, coaches, and provides programmatic supervision to area EFNEP Program Assistants/Associates and works closely with county extension directors for recruitment, hiring and evaluation of Program Assistants/Associates. In addition, Lisa is responsible for new EFNEP staff training and volunteer development.
