BIOGRAPHY

Emily Foley serves as the Regional Nutrition Extension Associates (RNEA) for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) Steps to Health program in the Central Unit.

The programs serve limited resource families and school-aged youth by providing hands-on educational sessions with the goals to improve dietary intake, nutritional practices, food resource management practices, food safety practices and to increase daily physical activity.

In this role, Emily provides leadership to the EFNEP staff in the Unit and facilitates and implements Steps to Health supported policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) activities in settings where EFNEP direct education is occurring.

Emily is passionate about serving the needs of families and youth in North Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition from NC State University and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from Meredith College.
