Efrén Maldonado MEd, MA, LISW
Efrén Maldonado Vélez has spent over two decades advocating for the health and wellness of the Latino/Hispanic community as well as other hard-to-reach populations through his work in government and nonprofit social services agencies. His familiarity with effective community messaging and outreach allows him to intentionally engage with a variety of institutions, households, and communities.
Efren holds a Bachelor degree in Bible and Theology from Crown College, a Master degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling and Guidance from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, a Master degree in Systematic Theology from Luther Seminary, and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work. He is original from Puerto Rico, but lived in Minnesota for 21 years before re-locating to Raleigh in 2018 with his wife Marta and the youngest of their four children Karmen Sonia.
