AHS Faculty Member, Dr. Kim Allen, Provides COVID-19 Support for families and agents through Webinars and Blogs

With a total of 5 webinars and 3 written blogs and a feature in the Huffington Post, Dr. Kim Allen has been busy doing what she loves best– providing resources and education to support youth and families. She has partnered with Faithful Families, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Family Life Coaching Association and NC State’s DELTA to provide support to faculty, agents, families and the community. Her webinars and blogpost cover an array of topics including, mental health, managing stress, building connections and relationships with family members during the COVID-19 pandemic, how to organize and transition to school at home and coping with being home every day.

“Most of us are home 24/7 with our family right now. It’s a whole big change for everybody” Dr. Allen explains. Helping families transition to the new norm while maintaining healthy relationships is her goal.

Dr. Allen has also been listed as an NC State University (DELTA) faculty consultant. She has helped faculty transition their classes to online and has also contributed to several DELTA trainings.
