2023 NC State Summer Extension Internship Program

Appropriate work experience is now just as valuable as your degree when it comes to building a successful career. As a result, internships have become an essential way to help individuals make themselves exceptional. Completing an internship with NC State Extension’s Summer Internship Program provides a high-caliber educational experience, and it allows you to build a bridge from college to career.

Summer interns will work on programs such as Master Gardener, crop protection, diabetes cooking classes and 4-H livestock projects with Extension Agents. Extension internships offer a first-hand view of Extension careers and how these careers impact farmers, youth and the community. The program is seeking students whose academic background is relevant to Extension. This internship will assist you if you are considering careers in agriculture, food systems, nutrition, youth development, community development, family and consumer sciences, natural resources or environmental science. Our internships cover 10 weeks during the summer, and many of our interns choose to receive college credit for their internship experience. In 2023, there will be 31 internships available across North Carolina.
