Graduate Certificate in Leadership

For those interested in developing and strengthening their leadership skills, the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences (AHS) in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences offers the Graduate Certificate in Leadership (GCL).

The GCL consists of five 3-credit courses focused on leadership theory, organizational leadership, community leadership, critical and creative thinking, and change management.  The program is for the individual who is either currently in a leadership role or aspires to serve in a leadership capacity in education, industry, non-profit, or government.  Courses are both face-to-face and online.

Requirements for admission to the certificate program include:

  • Graduate of an accredited four-year college or university
  • GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study

Applicants who do not meet the GPA requirements may be admitted provisionally based on past work experiences and the attainment of at least a “B” average in the first three courses of the certificate.

Students may begin taking courses for the certificate in Fall or Spring.
