Dr. Krasnyanski's PhD training was in Plant Physiology and Plant Tissue Culture. Before coming to NCSU, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of Plant Transformation and Molecular Biology at the Michigan State University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and Purdue University.

Dr. Krasnyanski is currently serving as a Senior Researcher in the Plant Transformation Laboratory (PTL) in the Department of Horticulture. He is responsible for scientific and functional operations within PTL including various research collaboration programs and consulting in the area of Plant Tissue Culture and Plant Transformation, training and supervision of PTL users, equipment maintenance, and lab teaching. The main goal of his research program is to improve the existing plant regeneration/transformation protocols of economically important crops as well as to develop new plant transformation systems that will become available in the public domain.
