I serve as the Director of the Center for Integrated Fungal Research (CIFR) at NC State University. My current research includes the comparative genome analysis of foliar and root infecting members of the Magnaporthaceae, the characterization of the transcription circuitry regulating pathogenicity in the rice blast fungus, and the development of a high throughput protoplast system for rice functional genomics and proteomics.
